My car has been having a hard time starting when it has been sitting overnight, but once i get it started it and turn it off and on again it starts right up. Plus, when the car is cold it sputters and has no power at wot until it gets warm. One thing after another :aigo:

By the way my starter was replaced and so was my csi. I have yet to check the codes too.

shouldn't be going WOT when it's cold anyway...

it will sputter if floored when it's cold, that's normal. beyond that, it sounds like you have a sensor disconnected or something out of wack... check the codes and see if there is anything...

engine codes: 12, 24, 34

Today was the worst it took me 5 minutes to get this started. I jiggled the cps wires a little and tried cranking again, still took a little while, but it started finally. I don't know if jiggling the wires helped or not, but thought I would try.

yeah, that is what they say. I reset the codes and 12 came back again, afm? From what im searching it is a bad cps or cps wires. I know my wires are very brittle with wire actually showing on all of them. I actually reset the codes today and tried cranking and it took a bit, more than two seconds but no codes, i waited until it was warm and went for a ride and the car died when i came to a stop sign, happens every so often. I checked codes again and still nothing.

CPS wires are baaaaaad

it's too damn common on these cars, are all your heatsheilds in place on the exhaust manifold?

Yeah all heat shields are in tact and there. There has to be a way to test this cps i need to check the tsrm. The thing I don't understand is how bad wires will cause it not to start ONLY when it is cold.

I think im just going to rewire it, I have exposed wires and that shouldn't be. Anyone know where to get a new connector or what it is called so i can get a new one and what size/where to get the wire to rewire this. If somebody knows somewhere online that would be best so i don't have to make a trip to the store trying to find what i need :) Also, my tach does not bounce when cranking either, which I found to maybe be another symptom of a bad cps/cps wires. Thanks Bob

I know my car runs like poop when it cold because all the vacuum lines have sludge in them, so when the cars cold it cant work right, but when it heats up the sludge liquifies and the car runs perfect.

This has been posted before:

CPS Harness side connector: 90980-10591
Wire Splices: 82998-12270 (Qty: 4)

CPS side connector: 90980-10590
Wire Splices: 82998-12260 (Qty: 4)

Code 24 is intake air temp sensor signal open or shorted. I would look closely at your AFM wiring while you're there.
