I'm rebuilding my 7mgte and I have a question, I'm doing a stock rebuild with new rings, bearings, oil pump, arp's , mhg etc. I purchased a polished and ground .025 crank and was wandering if getting it balanced is a must or not , anyone with any input will be greatly apreciated . Thanks alot guys.

You dont need it balanced since its just a stock rebuild. Once you do a forged bottom end and will be reving it to the sky yes its a must. What are your plans with the car? Whats your mods?

I'm planning on using the crank I purchased .025 main and rod bearings, new piston rings, mhg,new oil pump, aiming for 400 rwhp when I'm finished but for now just tryin to get it on the road running good and eventually get 550's, lexus afm, and possibly a upgraded ct26.I'm aiming for a pretty quick street car to acasionally take to the strip. So if I am using stock rods and pistons I will be fine without getting it all balanced ? Thanks alot for your help

i would say do it anyway i did a stock rebuild the pistons are .020 over my crank did not need to have any material removed

not having your rotating assembly balanced during a buildup is equivalent to not having your front end aligned after you spent $1000 on tires.

I would balance any engine if you are using new stock parts. If you are reusing stock parts such as pistons and rods, just put them back in the cylinder where they came from. Obviously bearings are a must and rings are a good addition too.
