I need help deciding, I am planning on doing a swap here this summer and wondering which one can you get more out of in the end?

I am going for about 400-500hp

And also which one is the easiest to drop in?

What do you have to change out on the 2 drops?

ALSO, last question..

If I wanted to do a 2JZ conversion...what do I have to do?

I have 1990 Toyota Supra A/T

Let me know please!

Thanks!
Ken

Ken, there are numerous threads about this subject. Try doing a search for some really good pros and cons for each motor.

I decided to go with the 1jz swap. It's not as easy as just dropping it in. I think the 7mgte would definately be easier for you to do, and I believe you'll reach your hp goals alot easier with the 7m also. As for the 2jz swap, you'd have to have some deep pockets for that one, but the decision is yours. Good luck, Jay

seriously. if you can't bother to search a forum that has 8756837524245315 posts, then you probably shouldn't be building an engine

really for my opinion,
7m-gte is easier to drop in, plus from what i see..they make more aftermarket parts for the 7m-gte than the 1jz.

lol, i wish i could have went 1jz or 2jz but the money wasn't right,

and also the money that you will put into the 1jz or 2jz swap you can have at least 4 or 5 different aftermarket parts for the 7m-gte

well good luck on your decision
peace

All the aftermarket items you can get for a 7m are readily available for a 1jz. Turbo upgrades, cams, cam gears, forged pistons, intakes, injectors, exhaust systems, it's all just as easy to get for a 1jz as for a 7mgte. Actually it's easier to get cams for a 1jz right now then for a 7m. It might be easier to drop in a 7mgte, but finding one worthy of installing in your car is a big challenge.

I was hoping someone would ask this question.....no one ever seems to have opinions on this subject! Its like taboo to talk about and stuff, no one will touch it.....oh well.....I'm gonna go pull out some tree stumps with my 7M.

That is all :D

I got an idea...!

7M pulling up tree trunk torque vs 1J pulling up dandelion torque aka is like a girl and has no balls...:D
