Ok heres are all the symptons related to my problem.

1 it takes 2 or 3 tries of 10-15 second cranking to get the car started .

2 once after its started and shut off, it starts right back up.

3 As soon as the car starts it jumps to 2500-3000 rpm and fluctuates when you give it gas it revs up but then dips lower than what it was be4, give it a full throttle tap it revs up then when it comes bac down it just shuts off sometimes.

4 if you start the car with the afm unplugged it idles very ruffy at 1200rpm but it does somewhat idle and as soon as u plug it back in it just raises back up and fluctuates betwen 2500-3000.

5 I went thru 2 other afm's one was another stock one that we didnt kno was good or not and the last was a lexus afm that we knew was good and it did the same thing as above.

^ changed spark plugs, wires, and tried to check for engine codes but something really wierd was happening, it would just blink two times and then the long second pause then just blink 2 times and repeat.
I've check for engine codes be4 and know how to read them and if going by the proper procedure this would be 20 but wtf is code 20? or 02?

and i have no boost leaks lol

So what do you think it is guys? i have a feeling its the tps?

lol from what it says in the tsrm that the 1rst number of blinks is the 1rst digit then 1 1/2 second pause then the second number is the second digit then a 5 second pause correct?

well its doing one flash then then .5 second then second flash then 5 second pause and repeats

so according to the tsrm thats 20 but there is no code 20 in the book.

It's 1.5 seconds between digits and 2.5 seconds between codes. Each code flash is .52 seconds. That's for two digit codes. For one digit codes there'll be 4.5 seconds between flashes. The 7M does not have any one digit codes. A normal (no code) is .26 seconds (that's half of .52...who would have thought?) in duration and codes come up 4 seconds after T is grounded. As an aside once a code is begun displaying it will finish even if the cause corrects itself. My TSRM show pretty much what I wrote but I have no idea what yours says. Maybe you should look at it again.

Some of your symptoms jive with a 22. At least they do with a cold engine...

if it is only blinking once, then the first pause the only one more time before the long pause it is a code 11. a code 11 is a momentary power interuption to the ECU. i have the procedure saved on my computer to check it so i will post it later.

It is in the TSRM. The cause is an interruption of power to the ECU. Can be either (or both) in the power or ground side. Clear it and see if it comes back. If it does check the manifold grounds. If they're OK you'll need to check the +B path. There are several ways of doing that. The best is voltage drop testing but substitution using a long jumper works for the electrically challenged...

ok it started raining today will check everything posted out 2moro and give a follow up.
I don't like to leave things unanswered just in case somebody else in the future has the same problem and can read up on this thread. I still dont understand why they didn't post code 11 on the engine diagnostic code pg in the online tsrm, that would've clear alot of my confusion up. oh well update will be given 2moro.

thanks guys
