7mge jdm swap questions

Story Starts...
I just recently bought a 5 speed 1989 Targa Top no motor no assesories belts, PSP, AC, Radiator nothing, and just bought a JDM 7MGE with 30k-40K miles, new headgasket and Properly Tourqed Head For a Whopping $1040 and ive searched this forum up and down for differences in the JDM Cressida Motor Compared to the USDM Supra and only found bits and pieces..(Im willing to fork out the money) i just need to know what parts despite the oil pump and oil pan that i will have to change and what challenges im going to face doing this swap.... i plan on buying a complete parts car so can i switch over parts belts pump etc...i just need to know all the differences in the JDM and USDM 7MGE...have the know how with cars, just new to the SUPRA world....Please Help...

One of the biggest things I can think of is the intake manifold. The supra has ACIS and the cressida one does not. Once you change that the vacuum system is changed as well.

I did the exact same thing to my 86.5 supra when i got it :). I swapped: engine mounts, oil pan/pump the entire upper intake and attached vacuum lines, almost all of the sensors (so they matched the wiring harness), the injectors, Ac bracket (slight difference on pre 89 don't know about post) and the distributer. It's really not as much stuff as it looks like and can be done in an afternoon. Good luck! enjoy the car, NA's are still a blast

appreciate it Blue....I mean i could do the swap if i wanted i just work 6 days a week and dont have time i just bought a motor with only waterpump, nothing else no intake exhaust manifold nothing...so i was just getting a clue of what to tell the guy who is putting my motor in.....which he seems to know he is a supra and Mr2 specialist...he has done some nice 1jz and 2jz swaps here in Asheville NC....Check him out if your local MR2Guru.com
