are there any differences between these two cranks? I spun a bearing on my 7mgte so I assume im definatly gonna need a new crank and I don't feel like having it machined, my buddy has a 7mge lying around I can take, so yeah, are they different?

There the same, but IIRC the early 7M's used a 6M crank. Is the engine the same year you wanna swap with?
You still need to have the crank checked by a machinist for straightness/balance and have the journals micro polished. Unless you are willing to risk spinning another bearing.
When exactly did the 7m start using a 7m crank? I have purchased two 89+ shortblocks and both had 6m cranks

my 88.10 came with a 7m crank motor....
i have a 6m crank block under my house and the 7m crank block is far superior to it...
