Don't think anyone has done it. It's been done with jz tho.

For 7m would have to make an adapter setup and then figure out some for the flywheel to be able to use a v160 clutch. Just the cost of that is like 5-7k my guess. Which is kinda stupid just so you can say you have a 6 speed. R154 is more than enough for most people running a 7m.

Not to mention the V160's shifter housing places the shifter too far back in the MA70 chassis. You'd have to modify the console and trans tunnel and have a shifter in an odd position, or modify the tail end of the transmission to fit in the factory location. This doesn't even get into the fact that the appropriate gear ratios (3.133:1) aren't available for the MA70 rear axle that came had 3.91:1 in the 87-88 turbo and the 89+ turbo had 3.73:1.

Considering you're talking about a transmission that goes for several thousand dollars, you'd have more in the transmission and rear end than the car is worth.

Can you? Sure. With enough time and money, you could turn a refrigerator into an airplane... Is it practical? Probably not. It would take an incredible amount of fabrication work. The hubs aren't compatible, the dogbones are different, the mounting points are different.

The V160 can be done on our chassis. We have done it to mount it to the 7M. The fabrication is not cheap and the labor is not. If you are interested, shoot me a PM and I can shoot you pictures of the one we did to make it fully plug and play to the 7M and chassis.

Wouldn't a BW T-56 be easier than the V-160? Probably could get one in the proper gear ratios to work with the stock rear end gears.
