Rice? No its Corn (E85)
i work at a starter and alternator shop and have access to database of all cars. im curentally doing a 2jz swap with r154 transmission. and was curious about what starter(s) will work so here it is

-all mk3 starters will work with all transmissions so
-w58 starter will work with automatic
-automatic will work with r154
-r154 will work with w58
the starters are all the same.
so dont go to DM.com for $120 starter :nono:
go to oriellys and get it for $60 lol!!
btw if you need starter or alternator parts i can get individual parts such as

-brushes
-solenoids
-drives
-bearings

for alternators
-rectifiers
-bearings
-commutator (slip ring)
-regulators

if you have burned out armature or field its best to get a new starter or alternator.

Yep all 7M, 1JZ and 2JZ starters are direct bolt-on no matter the transmission (auto, W58, R154)

JZ alternators only fit JZ motors tho.. However, anything could be made to fit.

Yes, they bolt up. Same pattern but the 1JZ is slightly weaker and tends to lock up more often. I have seen them lock up and then replaced them with 7M starters.

I'm running a strong 7M starter on my jz and before that the weaker smaller 1j starter couldn't hack it n broke. Put a used 7m starter in there and its been working for 3 years... only 10 bucks and i have two spares

1JZ starter are not the same. Came off a 1JZ JDM motor. They are smaller. I have an OEM 1JZ one in a parts box, seized as usual. I can post a picture of you'd like.
