'78 F250 Build

I'm bored, and figured since we finally have a Other Cars section again I'd post my truck.



It's a '78 F250, it's got a 429, 4speed, np205, stock 4:10 gears. I bought it off the original owner in Aug '06, here are some pics from right after I bought it.

Before I had even paid for it I already had my lift ordered, and my tires paid for. Lift is it just a 4" Skyjacker with new front and rear leafs. Tires are 15/38.5-16 TSL Boggers. Here are pictures from when the lift was just going in.

Pretty much has just stayed like that, here are a bunch of random pictures of it.

Since I can't keep the Dana 44 together, I'm going to be upgrading to a Dana 60 hopefully sometime soon, seeing as it's starting to get nice outside again.

I've got a Detroit Locker waiting to go in the rear diff, along with a full rebuild kit. I will also be swapping to disc brakes on the rear. I have almost everything I need to complete the swap. I just need the brackets and dust shields.

I've got my steering parts on order, changing from the crappy push pull to cross over. All that should be in tomorrow.

I have a new set of tires on order as well, staying with the same size just getting new ones. Hopefully those show up soon, seeing as I already have my old ones sold. I just need to swap the new ones onto my wheels.

I'm hoping to collect all the parts needed for an engine build up for next winter. I'm going to be turning my 429 into a 545. From what I've read it should be good for around 600hp/tq. Hopefully that'll go together nice, I'd also like to do some body work to it sometime. The doors need to be replaced, along with the bed and if I'm doing that I may as well get it painted. It'll stay the same colour.

If I even more bored later on I'll take pics of all my parts I have laying around and post them up.

This is what I'm working on right now, I'm hoping to have it all back together and back in tomorrow.

Fuel gauge isn't in the dash cause it's half assed mounted in the truck right now.

I finally got around to putting my new hood latch in, and finally put the grille back in. It's only been out for about a year now, haha.

Also cleaned up some behind the dash, got rid of a bunch of wires I won't be needing anymore.

I hate wiring, this is how far I've gotten on the dash. The wires are super long cause I'm not sure yet where I'm mounting the fuse panels for it.
