Okay this past Saturday, I was feeling pretty good. So I pulled my new toy out, rode all day. The track is open so I figure let me practice my launch technique. Anything under 7000 it bogs or stalls:crazy1: yes 7000! I built up to it...Well I gotta say it looks really mean for a bike to do a smoky burnout for 30+ feet without going up in a wheelie. With a rear tire larger than most cars 240mm it really looks crazy. Well after a dozen or so I do that famous last one! Perfect...then oh shit I go down hard!! Then slide for 15 or so feet. Not much damage to my bike, but 40 year old bones don't take abuse too well. I twisted my knee and took off enough skin to think about a graph. Luckily I just put on my jacket or my right arm would have been toast (burnt toast).:3d_frown: This shit HURTS!!!

when i launch hard, if i don't burn the tire first, my bike will wheelie WHILE spinning the tire. its a cool feeling :)

10k rpm launch on this thing :D (YZF-600R)

sounds like he's on a slick though... different story there lol

i launch all of my bikes off the limiter, kevlar clutch disks are less than $100 and it only takes about 30-45 minutes to change. they'll last around a full season on 600's and 1/2 on non-turbo 1k's. haven't had the opportunity to own a turbo 1k+ bike though yet... dunno if i have the balls to go 7 seconds on a bike either

forgot to add, for any road rash use a product called "second skin" those patches work wonders. i've used them a few times before getting smart and riding with pants too, not just bluejeans

Hey thanks guys. Here is a quick link http://www.milehigh-harley.com/newbikes/2008_Harley_Davidson_VRSC_Bikes/VRSCDX_Night_Rod_Special.php
No pics of the bike hurt, but she is already mostly fixed. I couldn't take it, I just bought it a month ago. The pic of my knee is before the !@^$% scubbing to clean it out. Which to me did more damage and F_ _king hurt like hell!!! Oh yea that black spot is burnt polyester.

There's a reason cyclist racers shave their legs.... ;)
