3000 pipe

How do you guys/gals fuse two Supra 3000 pipes together?? I know,... cut and weld right?? it even if you do you still have to grind and polish the welds to make it smooth or I'm I totally off on the procedure?

I know, H.K.S. has one already made, I'm picky I want it to say "3000"

He is probably trying to remove the reduction in size on the side intaking from the intercooler.


Its pretty much pointless. Not worth your time or money.

umm why exactly do you say its pointless? it removes a large bottleneck restriction...

its a cheap solution...for those who want all the things the 3k pipe has attached to it...plus its stock looking...

you saying its pointless is very ignorant.

the main reason was to accomodate the rubber hose being able to slide on and being clamped....

other then that MAYBE MAYBE for cleaning up airflow.... but i dont see how it could be WORSE to open it up....

I believe it was crimped down just for the connector, I could see it balancing harmonic airflow blah blah(toyota speak) but Its probably just to make crap cheaper.

ummm lets see...if you do the fabrication yourself your cost is what $20 at MOST. and maybe 2 hours of your time. the HKS pipe is over $100. its pretty cost effective if you ask me.

on top of that..... i dont think he plans on knocking anything out unconcious so i dont know what would be anesthetic about it... :nono:

i dont think it was spelling lol... anesthetic and cosmetic are two completely different words

and chopping it up is one thing but if its done right it looks sotck and improves performance...all be it slightly but it still does.... and its a LOT cheaper then the hks pipe.

Alot of people dont want to spend money for bolt on after market parts. After a while things get ugly when you got 50 different brand name logos all over your car. Its just a matter of opinion, some people pay extra for all those brand logos.

Seems like a cool idea if it can be done correctly and keep that stock look.

3000 pipe is aluminum... im just cutting mine, and not bothering welding another piece. i am going to however weld an aluminum bead so my couplers don't fly off.

It will only flow as much as the point of greatest restriction IE: the smallest hole in the system will govern flow.

LOTS of small holes in the stock IC Pipes...
