i agree man i agree! its very unique. i like the jz motors mainly the 2j but god this gives a whole nother option lol! car makes torque sounds mean is somewhat cheap so replacing wouldn't be an arm and a leg. i wish i had the tuning skills and craftsman he has on this though!

Only taking it to 6500. No point in going higher with these cams - they just choke out BAD.

Can't be mad at that, you make at least double the power as your old 1j setup, at least until around the 5k mark. Even then you're still up a healthy amount. Area under the curve, right? ;)

You know, definitely gives the idea of one of these in the 46 a bit more of an argument, though the engine bay is a bit narrow, a dohc v8 might not fit easily.

That is the easy part.
True, but I'd be willing to bet if his setups were run side by side, the v8 car would pull due to the early powerband. As much as I like high strung smaller motors, low end grunt isn't entirely overrated...

A JZ would take the longer pulls due to a higher redline but the 1UZ would jump head every time.

That can change with an addition of cams and jeeez, what a race that would be. :ugh:

The ONLY downside to higher displacement engines is they tend to weigh more, that's the only potential issue I see. On a Mk3 though, that wouldn't matter, and in this case, the 1uz is lighter than the JZ that was pulled out, so double benefit in this case. :)

Nah, wont be any updates for a little while. Cams are going to be quite expensive...I need to get a couple more customers who want these swaps done. That should net me some project money for cams. lol.

The original swapper (that I know of) weighed his 7MGTE and 1UZFE. The 7M was 440lbs, and the V8 was 370. That was the old V8Supra.com site, or whatever it was called.

I was speaking in generalities, iron block vs iron block, aluminum block vs aluminum block, more cubes tends to equal more weight.

Another benefit to swapping in a 1uz? Better weight distribution, much of the engine should sit behind the axle. :)
