alright, my engine is 98% of the way in and now im stuck, the rear turbo intake is hitting the ac lines, and the mounts are barely out, sometimes i can get one started, but then it falls out after i try to put the other side in, am i missing something?

You have to beat back the fire wall so that the rear turbo fits.

Edit:
Yeah sorry I thought you had 2jzgte. Like hvyman said jack up the tranny. I jacked up my rear end up and also had a engine level. When I dropped it in the first time I pretty much dropped in. The second time I struggled. Just like you said I could get one mount in but not the other. took a lot of wiggling and a extra hand but it eventuality dropped in.

What year is your car?

That is with the tranny jacked all the way up :/ The last 3 hours i've spent on it, it hasn't moved past that point.

its a 1991, came as a manual turbo, putting in a manual 1jz from a jza70, pretty much the simplest swap you can do, so far i've learned that nothing can be easy with this car :/

The engine is level, i could probably install the shifter right now, i wish i could jack it up higher, so that it angled downward, maybe i can remove the trans mounts and try that.

Do you have the right sump? Did you remove the brace on the subframe? (you remove it to remove/install the engine and then put it back)

If you have the trans mount installed, the tranny is not jacked up all the way.

Remove the mount and jack it up farther, its tight but itll fit.

If you have abs removing the rear charge pipe would not work. Bolts hit the brake lines.

Are the mounts on backwards?

the brace is removed, it should be the right pan because it was out of a supra, the car does have abs, if i remove that pipe im afraid i won't be able to get it back on, i'll try removing the trans mount bracket, so that i can lift the trans even higher, hopefully that will move the mounts back and the charge pipes forward

IT WORKED! removing the transmission mount and jacking it up extra high worked, i also had to use a screw driver to bend the mount into place but its all good now! that was bugging the shit out of me all day at work! THANKS VERY MUCH GUYS!
