I hear that buying a brand new 2j block from the dealership is a bad idea unless you machine the block before building it. Buddy of mine told me the cylinder walls arn't perfectly round and come oval.

Thats just what I herd.

Can anybody comfirm this?

just... wow...

some come out of spec, if you go through suprasport or titan or even mvp they charge to check all the specs and change it if it is out of spec when you buy a shortblock from them (plus they have it in stock buying from toyota might take a lot longer and you are pretty much paying the same or a hundred or so dollars more to buy through them than the cheapest price a toyota dealer will sell it for)
