I looked it up on the map-ecu website forum when they had it, it is pretty straight forward if I remember correctly. I did already have a plug-n-play harness for a SAFC 2 so most of the wires were already tapped into. I would recommend just getting a harness made, a lot less time consuming. Here...
Well I just purchased me a set of wheels and I am trying to determine what tire sizes to run. The specs on the wheels are :
Front 18x8.5 +35
Rear 18x9.5 +35
I was thinking for the front some where between 225-245/40/R18 and the rear 245-265/35-40/R18
Trying to decide which size looks best...
Nice video, music at the first makes me want to break out the glow stick a little.
suprafanatic - what wheels were you running in the rear on your car in the video?
Alright, I think I have things figured out. I am going to have do a little re-wiring, but the map-ecu software can actually sample kv inputs from the toyota kv mass air sensor. Since I have the lexus afm/550 combo already I will simply drive the car and sample my kv frequency to get me a good...
Raven979900 - My mods are as follows: 57trim ct-26, DDP down pipe 3in rest of the way, 2.5in hard pipes with spearco replica, aeromotive afpr, 550cc injectors, lex afm (but that wont be needed soon). And I have been running around 16psi.
Suprapowaz!(2) -Yeah, that's what I am going to try and...
I had a issue with the throttle stop screw a while back, after talking to a few toyota master techs that my dad knew from when he was a Snap-on dealer I opted to just buy a used throttle body with the screw set from factory still with the yellow paint on it. The screw is set from factory and not...
suprapowerz!(2) - When I loaded it the map supplied off the website the car doesn't idle well and will break up at low throttle. I was just trying to get a hold of a little more secure map.
ml43 - I am going to look into the learning mode because if I can get the kv inputs that are there when...
Supramario - turns out I may be coming to try the ignitor on your car after all.
Any one else have any suggestions on what this could be. We are also considering that the map sensor has went bad, that could be the cause of the condition going from "sometimes" to "all the time". If the car...
ogre - same principle both take a pressure/vacuum reading and convert it to a kv signal so that the ecu can interpret it, however they do differ from each other in some ways.
Yeah the safc is good for what it does and should be just fine for you application. Keep in mind though you do control ignition timing when you lean and richen things, that is why the safc is only good as a fine tuning tool.
gofastgeorge - I am on their forum, it is not very active so I thought I would have better luck on here.
ogre - just as CRE stated, the MAP-ECU is a piggyback ecu that also has the ablility for the user to remove the Karmen Vortex air meter and utilize a map based system. I use a serial cable...
Not really sure where to put this post so I figure the tech page should be alright. I tried to in the piggyback section, but was having trouble to get my thread posted.
I was just curious if anyone has a different map for a 7mgte supra with 550cc injectors other than the one supplied off the...
SupraMario - I don't think the ignitors are interchangeable becuase the only US ignitor that will cross over to the 1jz I believe is one off of a 95 toyota avalon and a new one is around 500+. If it does though you will get a visit from me soon.
scottiedawg66 - Plugs were pregapped NGK's and...
Fubar231 - I am using a hks ez as my form of boost control. I have it set to 13-14psi, which it will hold at lower rps up untill around 3500-3800 rpm. After that it will pick up and begin creeping up to 16.xx psi. When getting the car dyno'd we confirmed that this was where it stopped over...
So here is the deal, I have a good friend with a 1jz swapped 87 supra. Nothing specail just a stock 1jz swap bought from Jarco a while back. Recently it has started to run rough and break up at times. The issue has progressively gotten worse over time. When it starts to act up the tach will...
I was just curious if anyone had a different map for a 7mgte supra with 550cc injectors that the one supplied off the mapecu website. Let me know if you do, it would be greatly appreciated.
wiseco7mgt - Don't confuse the man anymore than he already is, he doesn't need the air flow meter he only needs the housing, the air flow meter is the same as in the 7mgte. I am not trying to be a ass or anything just trying to not get our guy here even more lost haha.
