Replace everything back to stock except the bov and test drive it again. My money is on vacume leak, possibly the actual mounting of the bov c-clip.
Auto or manual....don't matter.
You have to be able to understand the instructions before you use the boost controller. Its a very good unit with almost no flaws that I can think.
Has "HI" and "LOW" settings that takes quite a bit of trial and error to achieve your specific boost level, and how fast you can get it to spool...
