    Hatch bump stop installation

Just want to add that the driftmotion supplied screws are rusting and bleeding rust on everything. Really crappy unprotected metal. So just buy your own screws when you do this job.

    Hatch bump stop installation

Hi guys, i wanted to do a quick write up on the install of the Driftmotion hatch bump stop kit on my 87. Starting with the cylinder shaped stops under the wing, they pull right out with a twist, no screws. To install the new ones, i assumed the same technique would work, and it did...for the...

    Bypass; Heater Control Valve

The strange thing is that the silicon hose fit just fine on the back of the engine between the valve covers, but the other end required a 3/4".....

    Bypass; Heater Control Valve

@plaaya i bought that same 3/4 fitting but it measured 5/8 and was too small for my silicon hoses. Are those the oem hoses?

    Bypass; Heater Control Valve

The other day i was replacing my coolant hoses and noticed that the bottom heater control valve hose had never been touched. After removing the 2 hoses i saw how deteriorated the outlets were. I did some reading and decided to bypass the valve instead of trying to replace it. From what i...

Um yeah, i want to talk to someone who is able and willing to explain it to me and future visitors in plain english without being sarcastic a-holes. Thats not a guide its a thread with a bunch of measurements thats greek to me, ive never even heard of offset before, why is it so hard to get...

    Biggest tires possible without modding?

    Biggest tires possible without modding?

Hey guys, im running 225/35/18 in front and 245/35/18 rears. Id really like to go a little bigger on the sidewalls while still keeping the 18s. I just get way too much NVH transfer straight to my bones from the street. Does anyone have bigger wheels than me? Whats the biggest i can fit...

    Full 3" exhaust install

4 minutes ago · #5 Oh and as for the sound, with the baffle installed, at idle its actually very close if not the same volume as the stock sound. With the baffle out at idle, its noticeably louder but not 'paranoid of getting pulled over' loud. Im very happy with the sound, one of my biggest...

    Full 3" exhaust install

So now that im all finished i want to add my final insights/takeaway. Starting at the turbo downpipe, the original had a long heatshield held on by 3 clamps, the first of which simultaneously attached to the bracket on the transmission. This heat shield was impossible to use for the new 3"...

    Full 3" exhaust install

I wanted to write here what i would have liked to have known before i jumped under the car. Parts: There are 2 rubber donuts holding up the muffler, 2 donuts behind it, one of those non-donut rubber hangers just before the muffler, 2 more donuts before that, And 2 more donuts up by...

New PS pump, really hard steering

OP UPDATE: Please read the entire thread before adding a post, it can be confusing for other people. Just to clarify, we were dealing with 2 seperate pumps. The first replacement was deemed defective. The 2nd was leaking from the ORING on the inlet. The one that came with the rebuilt pump...

New PS pump, really hard steering

Pulled the reservoir with the hose and inlet tube still attached. No evidence of any leaks from either end of the hose, but my instinct maintained that the oring was definitely too scrawny. So even though science would say that anything above the leak will leak, and i had already seen the...

New PS pump, really hard steering

I removed the reservoir and hose to find the inlet tube brimming with fluid. Meaning that the Oring is sealing, so i used a piece of an10 stainless hose i had leftover and got rid of the silicon hose that was on there. Thats about as far as i got when the godforsaken portland rain kicked up...

New PS pump, really hard steering

Fat leak coming from the pump area, rack is all dry. The only place conceivable is the scrawny Oring for the inlet on top of the pump. That would also explain the ridiculous 6 hour bleed time. If i cant find a more suitable Oring ill have to slather ultra black on it and hope for results.

New PS pump, really hard steering

Thread reopened. Woke up today to see the resevoir nearly drained and after filling, the steering is once again complete shjt. Overflowed with foam the first few minutes, had to drive it a few miles to run errands and it stopped overflowing but still bubbles like i didnt just spend a day & a...

New PS pump, really hard steering

After bleeding again today for about 4 hours, and nearly giving up and assuming i had an air leak somewhere, the last 2 bleed cycles were noiseless and practically foamless.* This may*just be coincidence but the bleeding process*seemed to crescendo or plateau and the foaming seemed to stop...

New PS pump, really hard steering

It had raised up a little once on the ground but not much movement. Ive swapped out the pump with a warranty replacement, and its def a farcry from the first. Masses of bubbles and foam this time. I covered the return inlet with duct tape and set up 4 ft of 3/8 into a milk jug and flushed...

New PS pump, really hard steering

If i try to flush it with this pump, if the pump is actually defective, thats means nothing would flow from the return line right?
