Agreed. I'll definitely stick with the 7m, I just hope the turbo and tranny and everything else is good after I fix the block. This car could turn into a money pit real fast. If the block isn't any good I was looking into JDM, but some of those sites are pretty shady

I have been researching a lot recently and the more I find the more it seems that the 7mgte is very unreliable, even if it is well maintained. If i could get a 2jz to smog, I may go down the engine swap road.

Well there is hope, I found a place out of Sac who will rebuild the engine for $1,300. They even warranty it for a whole year. That might be my best bet, but for all the other parts I guess I will have to get them one by one.

Yea the plan was to try and work with what I have, but I wanted to explore all my options. If my block is okay I may end up rebuilding it. But otherwise I feel like the JDM will be the next best option. When you order it on there you can add on the wiring harness for only $100 more

Yea I did it with the socket and ratchet. Something inside is stopping it. I drained the rest of the oil and it looked fine.

Well a full 7mgte is only $1300. I haven't opened my block but I am almost sure its no good. And the guy I bought it from didn't put all the pieces back together so I am not even sure everything there is. So the goal was to buy an engine from a JDM dealer and have all the pieces
