    Running LEAN after upgrades

Update: so I took off the air filter of the lex afm during idle and the car died. So I figured the afm is the taking in too much air for the supplied fuel, i.e. The lean conditions at all throttle positions. So I took off the lex afm and put on the stock unit, which now idles perfectly, but...

    Running LEAN after upgrades

It doesn't throw any more codes at all. To start off, I adjusted the fuel pressure regulator higher to ~40-50 psi and the afrs came back down to around 14ish like it's supposed to be, but the Vf's stayed pinned at 5.0. Then with the slightest touch of throttle it goes down to 0.0. I don't...

    Running LEAN after upgrades

I know I said boost leaks, but wouldn't a vacuum leak theoretically cause leaner conditions before any boost was introduced? The car would be sucking in more air post-afm than it is reading/supplying fuel for at the afm. Could be wrong, just thinking out loud. I took off the filter and supplied...

    Running LEAN after upgrades

UPDATE: rewired the knock sensors again and it still threw code with two brand new Toyota knock sensors, so on the bench I tested the two knock sensors that originally came out and they were working fine and giving signals, so I put those original knock sensors back in with the new wiring and no...

    Running LEAN after upgrades

Here is an update... still have some more tests this week and also I have a new gas filter and haven't put it on yet. Also... I am sure I'm not capturing all of the tests I have done... Remember that after I put the low impedance 550 RC injectors and the 1 no. colder copper plugs, it ran even...

    Running LEAN after upgrades

Update: Installed the new knock sensor and o2 sensor and also re wired the knock sensor wires and grounded both sides of the outer jacket to good grounds. No luck. Barely could keep it running while cold then once warmed up would idle ok but bad hesitation and threw the 52 code. Ordered a ecu...

    Running LEAN after upgrades

Yeah, I read this soon after posting that reply above about the o2 and forgot to edit and fix that. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?218803-what-happens-if-you-unplug-the-o2-sensor-while-idling :: hommer :: but I appreciate the help hvyman!

    Running LEAN after upgrades

Thanks for all of the quick replies, we really appreciate it! Unfortunately leaving now for a week, then updates will start back In addition: before leaving, tried idling the car and disconnected the primary O2 and no change in idle. New O2 is already on the way, just thought I should add.

    Running LEAN after upgrades

Cold start won't stay running, once warmer bogs slightly. on higher throttle, the lowest AFR is 14ish, so that could be considered WOT

    Running LEAN after upgrades

Will turn up the FP to that and let you know how it runs. Vf is 5v at idle and drops to 0v at any throttle, also the Lex AFM has a fixed adjustment screw for some reason, so should I figure out how to adjust this for the ECU and Vf readings? So would you recommend doing the rewire and new KS...

    Running LEAN after upgrades

Hey guys, My father recently has bought himself an '89 supra 7mgte manual with about 110k original miles on the dash. The car was purchased from a younger guy out of VA who lost time or interest for the car and wanted to see it go to a good home. It was in great condition and...

Build up 7MGTE or go 1JZ?

Personally I think a built 7m is respectable compared to a 2j swap. And like they said, you already have it and know what you need
