I am a BMW tech. Every BMW V8 we have or have made arnt great engines. Yes there good when there running but they are very exspensive. They use a lot of oil. The ITB's are cool but the throttle actuator that they have mounted in the v of the engine like to take a shit. I have changed 2 of them...
without building the motor your prolly wont get much more then 325whp or so maybe. I have the 601 with forged internals and many of the other upgrades you have listed. at 15-17psi im hitting 376whp 383wtq. I stopped tuning after that but I may be able squeeze a smitten more out.
xxr 526 18x10.5" rear with +20mm offset. its a 4.25" lip with 255 35 tire if I remember correctly.
xxr 526 18x9 frint with =25mm offset. its a 2.75" lip with a 235 35 also if I remember correctly.
they were from another member some time ago. was told they were never used. Not sure of the brand. Im not not sure what id sell them for prolly not much. I do need to get more so we may be able to work something out. I know I was thinking of upgradeing to the rc 750 at a minimum.
it worked good. 376whp 383wtq at roughly 14 psi and that was with more tuning still required. I don't believe you will get the 500 with the ct but like you in the future im going to upgrade the turbo in the future. I still have more to go this winter I hope.
If hes going o machine the crank then the bearings need to be undersized. Undersized bearing means the internal diameter is smaller. Oversized is the block side has been machined or line bored. Common mistake though.
yeah ive been there many of time. Next spring would be cool. If we could get more ppl. I don't have my passport anymore so I cant cross. Mines not completely ready yet either
just wondering how many are on this forum from my area. Im currently located in the lansing area and was wondering how many are around and anyone ever get together.
or anyone in northern in
hvyman ive tried moving timing around to get the best idle. The best idle seem to be about 11-12 degrees timing at idle but again uses way to much fuel just to idle at 15-15.5
oh and does anyone know what kinda of knock value I should see with a forged bottom end. I know the value are gonna be higher because forged pistons produce more noise. But im trying to get a general idea of how far off I am.
so far its not completely fixed but it is getting better the more I mess with the tune. im getting it worked out. Now my issue is that at idle it need way more fuel then it does for part throttle driving and it make the fueal graph look a little funny. My next step is to look at the cps to see...
supranaewbie. Thanks that would be great. In the meantime I will check all those grounds again. I have a nother cps I can put on to just to check and see if that changes anything. I know that little wire going from the coil pack harness to the head is good ive checked that on before but ill...
