What is this stuff in my gas tank?!?

I appreciate all the input, have some new info. Tried to dissolve the stuff in chemtool, seafoam and alcohol with no success. Tried water, and it just melted away. I'm pretty convinced that it is sugar, as I have never known gas deposits to be water soluble. Still haven't done the taste test...

What is this stuff in my gas tank?!?

That's exactly what it looks like... I don't have the testicular fortitude to do a taste test [emoji14] Sent from my C6530N using Tapatalk

What is this stuff in my gas tank?!?

Changed out my fuel pump last night and found the this crap in the bottom. Some of the pieces are about 1/4" thick and the biggest is 1 1/2" long. Had the consistency of toffee, crispy when cool and sticky and tar-ish when warm. My filter sock was full of it and caused the pump to fail...

AC clutch engages, fans don't kick in, whats the dealio?

Thx for the info- wiring diagram is exactly what I needed.

AC clutch engages, fans don't kick in, whats the dealio?

Beautiful, thank you- So if I am reading this right, the fans are triggered by the ac high pressure and/or the AC water temp switch. Eventually, even if the pressure is not high enough in the ac system, the water temperature, if allowed to climb high enough will trigger the fans to run...

AC clutch engages, fans don't kick in, whats the dealio?

AC clutch engages, fans don't kick in, whats the dealio? I thought it was the relay under the battery, but I can manually actuate the relay and the fans blow... What am I missing? T-

    DrDucttape's 1988 MKIII Project

Just wanted to post a quick update, been working out lots of little gremlins, exhaust leak, spark plug gap, bad blower, center support bearing, squeaky speedometer, missing check engine light bulb and sockets.... Which lead to code 52. Just got rid of code 52 by way of ks rewire, OMG it performs...

stock fuel pump capabilities, info needed

I need to do some learning about fluid dynamics, I removed the oem reg. and I can bump the pressure way high now. The logic in my head told me that if I added restriction downstream from the stock FPR the pressure would build and open it up and cancel its control of the pressure in the line...

stock fuel pump capabilities, info needed

Thank you, i figured the pump was capable of more than 40psi. yah i lft the stock one on , cause im a funny guy :) pumps are rated at a flow rate and a pressure, thats why i figured i it should put out more pressure than 40 psi. i am pulling the stock one off, just didnt get around to it...

stock fuel pump capabilities, info needed

I used to live half a mile from Slocan, off 45th ave. Long time ago, used to ride bike in Central park and play the par 3. Is it still there?

stock fuel pump capabilities, info needed

So, the ole fuel pump was in question because performance was lacking in the higher rpm range . I ordered an afpr pretty much just for the gauge so I could keep my eye on the fuel system. I left the stock fpr in place and cranked the pressure up and it would not go any higher than 40psi...

    Fuel ?Restrictor??

Ok, so here's the update: After clearing the blockage in the vac line to the EGR the idle smoothed out but still would dip down and want to stall when I get off the throttle and power would still drop off bad at the 4K rpm area. Poured in some injector cleaner when I fueled up and after 100...

    Fuel ?Restrictor??

I dunno, but since I screwed with it the idle is good... Didn't get a chance to open it up on the way to work, tough to go 0-80 in rush hour traffic.
