Well, I managed to get it done with a mirror in the end. Detaching the vsv from the manifold helped clear things out of the way enough. Of course removing the battery, alternator, etc were all required.
I did find that one of the vsv connector wires had broken off, so that’s next
I didn't go through anything nearly as horrible as this with my rack when I ordered from rock auto (no visible damage and even some packing material), but I can confirm that it actually worsened performance over the rack I took out. The steering is noticeably heavier, as if it had less assist...
Thanks for the info, very helpful. HSD mono pro came 18K in the front and 10K in the rear by default. The front feels OK surprisingly, but the rear is a bit much for me. I have both dialed down to the low end of the range of adjustment as well.
I have a set of hsd coilovers that I'm quite happy with in terms of build quality and handling improvement. They've survived quite a few miles and ride well, but I feel the default spring rates supplied are too heavy for the terrible roads I have in my area, especially in the rear. I'm currently...
I realize I'm re-opening a zombie thread... any updates on progress with 7163? I've been looking to do a similar build but I'm having problems finding a divided t4 setup that doesn't already have waste gate provisions. I see you found a Greddy. Is it divided? Any advice where to find one?
Very Nice! Be sure to provide impressions about improved braking once you are confident enough to put it through its paces. I'm on the fence, and if there is a big improvement it might just push me over the edge.

I believe this is the injector resistor, should be located on the fender under the hood. Not to be mistaken for the igniter!
In order to finish up the job, after unplugging and removing the resistor pack you just need to...
Which brand injectors are you looking at?
I believe that if you use high impedance injectors, you will indeed need to remove the resistor box.
Something like this: http://www.titanmotorsports.com/rcen55in.html
Should not require the removal of the injector box. I'm sure you can purchase...
I'm interested in a gauge mount for the ashtray. Specifically the zietronix lcd gauge. I've been debating on learning to design in solidworks so that I can take advantage of 3D printers at my university.
I had the same problem you did with the pumps banjo bolt. It took a small breaker bar for me as well. I think it's a symptom of overtightening, but I couldn't identify a reason either.
As for the intermediate shafts, I didn't remove mine as the reman'd rack came with new intermediate shafts...
I just finished a power steering rack replacement myself while doing the sub-frame poly bushing install front and rear.
They are standardized sizes but I had a hell of a time sourcing them locally at any auto parts store. I believe the pressure hose (from driftmotion) comes with the proper...
To choose gasket size and preserve compression ratio you need the following pieces of information:
1) stock compressed gasket thickness (~1.4mm, someone please confirm)
2) amount of material removed from head surface (thickness)
3) amount of material removed from block surface (thickness)...
Good find.
When I performed my CPS rebuild, I used this kit: http://twosrus.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=66 (it's only missing the bearing?)
Beechperformance also sells this kit: http://www.driftmotion.com/BPM-202-67-p/dm2758.htm
While likely more expensive, these are probably...
