I am guessing the difference is just the different Dynamometers. Yesterday we did a run and it seemed to be a bit lower for him. He had a F150 pickup with the lighting motor swap. he finished it last quarter. He was about 20 hp lower then he thought it would go. I was using a Dynomax dyno, they...
Well, man, i have wanted to dyno my car for so many years! First i had to get a real motor. My NA wouldn't cut it. Here are multiple runs and then videos. It was so much fun. I did about 10 passes.
I was seriously surprised because i don't have the zero torque issue most 1jz guys complain...
Amsoil is dealer sold. So it is like amway and other pyramid schemes. But they do have a good product. The prices are similar to redline i think. About 8 bucks or more per qt. I just couldn't afford it anymore, so i switched to Mobile 1 about 3 years ago. You can go to their website for more...
Yup, that is why i am changing on my next oil change. I was told 4 years ago to go with 20w50. I dont know why, but i followed it. I think it was when i was using amsoil. Because it is so expensive, i usually stock up when on sale for like 4 or 5 bucks a qt. So i had quite a lot of it. I am...
Mobil 1 20W50. I have been using it for 4 years. I am going to switch to 10w30 on my next change. Also, i think this is a total repost. I remember reading a very long post about this exact thing a while back.
I can help with the last 2 pictures. The first question is yes. The last picture is for the hydrofan. I personally didn't reconnect it. I didn't reconnect most of those coolers. I also went with a larger intercooler, so i am not sure about that part either. Good luck.
I am unsure about your coolant hose question. Cant you just get a new one at your local auto parts store?
About the bov. Many people don't bypass it. Yes, they do make an adapter so you can place an aftermarket one in the stock location. Check the usual supra places like Driftmotion for it...
Please show your maps, all of the stock cam maps that i have seen have shown it pretty much completely die at about 6200. I still would like to have a rev limit of some sort. None scares me.
Ok, so mine has no rev limit. I really wish i did have one. The stock 1j without a 2j bottom runs out of hp at like 6500 rpm. Why would you go higher? You can go with bc cams or others, i guess i understand in those cases.
It has nothing to do with the engine. It is just the computer components and how it is setup. You use your foot if you want lower boost. low throttle equals about 3-5lbs. :)
My avc-r works the exact same way. If i want lower boost, i just turn it off. The stock ECU runs 10 lbs. So it is either 10 lbs or 15 with the avc-r on :)
