That is what the idiots that swapped my donor car did and i have to say it is very shady and messy. I am sorry, but it is just not that hard to extend them! Just do it! Go slow and you will be very pleased with yourself.

I second this! This is the best way. It takes about 8-10 hours of soldering, but it is worth it. You will have about 4 shielded wires, that is the only issue. I have been driving mine for 6 months and it works great after the home made extension :)

I finally got the Tach to function after the swap last November, for the show. I installed a little device that fixed the signal. Works pretty damn well, It has a tiny bump every about 10 seconds, but other then that, it is great! I love having a tach again! :)
