Find a 1jz ecu or go with a stand alone. You will be much happier. I think doing the 2j is going to be much more work. You can get a "good" 1jz ecu for about 200 bucks often.

2: the heads have the same dimensions so the head gaskets are interchangeable. The heads and blocks are also interchangeable. I would highly recommend a new headgasket if you are planning on boosting high, but others will say reuse it. It is up to you.

Both swaps take a huge amount of time and many people will argue that the 2jz and 1jz take about the same amount of time. My 1j swap took me months to complete properly.
