HAHA! Umm, that is 8x6 =48+ ship :) You have to use one for each coil.
This is what i used: http://www.glensgarage.com/catalog/igbt-ignition-coil-driver-p-99.html
I think they basically are the exact same, but so much cheaper. 8 bucks is seriously highway robbery, in my perception. Well, good...
Nope, i haven't rewired it yet. I broke up with my girlfriend of 2 years last week, so i have had just about no interest in working on the supra. I will update once i have some energy to work on my projects. Thanks for checking in.
I also haven't received a reply from Aaron from 2 weeks ago...
Not exactly, the sound will get through anyways. The main issue with a 4" is not loudness but fullness. A 4" speaker just cannot give you a full mid sound. It definitely cant do lows either. A 6.5" gives a much better sound representation, so that is the point. That fullness will still get...
Aaron, it is your wiring. As is the maps. That is why i assumed it was correct when i purchased it. The actual wiring harness works fine because the car runs perfectly. I have run the coils outside of the car with the stock ecu, and everything is perfect. Then with the EMS it fires similarly...
Sadly, none at all.
We have tried every single setting and 9 1jz/2jz maps with probably about 50 different configurations. I have tried every suggestion without success. The only thing that got it to work was when it was running on the middle 2 cylinders. Other then that, nothing has worked :(...
Props. Great little vid.
Yeah, I stopped when i got the bips. I just didnt want to cut my wiring up because i didn't see anyone actually get it to work using them. I will wire them up and sell the EMS 6860. Thanks!
Yup,
I already got them. But i have talked to atleast 10 people that think they can get the stock ignitor to function. That is why made this post. I just wanted to help out the community. You are the guy who has a 1jz on a MS 2, right? I have been talking to another friend about you.
over the last 5 fill ups, i have got between 15.5 and 16.5 MPG. I have got 24 going 55mph over 300 miles from Spokane to Seattle.
Stock twins with big intercooler. 3.73 rear diff. Sadly i always expected much better fuel economy. One of the big reasons to switch to a 1jz :(
That is very good input. I will try that tomorrow. I believe they are 14.5ohm or 15.5ohm, so 1/2 would be around 8. I will try 4.5 and see what happens. This wouldn't be a wiring issue, but a settings issue. The wiring was done by driftmotion, so i expect it to be correct. Only Aaron's shop has...
Cant change it. Mine are high resistance, and it is set to that. You had 550s in yours, right? I have 380s still. THe setting is 10-16ohm. I am just trying to get it to run so i know it works before i disassemble the engine and rebuild the turbo system with the GT35R i have. It is very...
This is the closest ecu setup. But still doesn't work at all.
I am very baffled. I keep trying different combination's of settings. I have tried about 5 or more fuel maps, just to see if it will just turn on. Nothing will just turn on the car.
One other very strange thing is that the tach...
Yeah, we did verify our wiring last night. With 6 ignitors, they run properly outside of the car, but everything is not synced up when the coils are reinstalled. It simply doesnt run once inside the motor. Only when 1 ignitor was put in, did it actually run. I am going to do some more tweaking...
This is the most recent one we tried. The engine was clearly running on 2 cylinders.
This is the map i recieved today from Pernilongo nd haven't tried yet.
The maps have a few differences. The one i got today had no static teeth, which doesnt make sense, but i might try.
The trigger pull up...
Thanks for the tidbit. We tried just about everything, but i think the last few rounds we had it set to about 3ms. I will try 2.1 the next time i work on her. I wasn't able to get to 1k, so it wasnt a reving issue.
Does anyone know why all of these maps that i have worked with all have 3...
