You could also get a set of Lipp traction arms (I got a set for when I get to that point) they are awesome quality, but make sure you get the steel ones, the aluminum sets are prone to cracking
I'm right there with you on the indecision part. I think I'm going to end up doing a combination of both. Brand new factory for most of bushings with poly for the sway bars, steering rack and possibly even poly rear subframe spacers, that way I get my comfy ride without the squeak that will...
IJ after much deliberation and researching in the direction you pointed me, I've come to the conclusion that I'm gonna not bother with the TTR/JZA70 factory spring and just jump straight to a set of coilover springs and a good quality sleeve kit on a set of new TEMS shocks. If I ever find a set...
Perhaps the easier route is the same one that diesel trucks utilize, gearing. But for an economy car in the future, I could see it being set up in much the same way as modern diesel/electric trains, where the Diesel engine is pretty much only a mobile generator that powers the electric motors...
Sorry about that, my bad. Seriously though, diesels are pillars of fuel economy though. I've gotten 23 MPG out of my '04 F-250, which weighs a metric-shit-ton. When I look at a gasser version of the same truck and its only getting half that it makes me think diesels are the way of the future...
If your still looking for a digital speed sensor for the transmission, I have one on my cars auto trans. It's no use to me since I have a regular dash. If you have a regular one and they are transferable, I'd swap you no charge if you pay shipping
Ah yes! That was the difference I was trying to convey. I was concerned with it because I had read that the Illumina-IIs were more prone to failure when paired with lowering springs due to being partially compressed all the time, losing some of the travel and blowing out, but you think a set of...
That's the point of the full sleeve, it lowers the full shock down (or moves the lower mounting point up depending on how you look at it) you just thread the shock body further down into the mount
How much did those cost you?
Edit: best pics of the difference between fully and partial thread I...
The thought behind the full sleeve is so I can retain the full travel of the shock, if all I do is lower the spring, then I've already compressed my shock some before I've even moved the car
How did you mount the sleeves to the shock body?
Are your springs linear?
Very nice! Which sleeve setup?
My whole idea was to get either a set of Illumina-II's or a new set of factory TEMS shocks, TTR (or similar) springs, an adjustable full sleeve kit that allows me to adjust both spring and ride height. This would allow me to have full travel of the shock so I...
What I'm most concerned with is the stiffer spring rates and that they are rare. I've heard that about the helper spring, but I would rather not chance it. I've also read some posts about them getting sloppy depending on what type of driving your doing.
Can they make them fully linear? And...
I found it on eBay, guy pulled it out of his van and it even came with the serius/XM tuner. I bought the exact same one for my truck brand new 4 years ago and it was $999.49 from best buy. But it was worth the cost cuz I never get confused on which GPS I'm using and how to work it :)
It's a...
I have a Kenwood DNX that has Garmin GPS, Bluetooth, handsfree calling, iPod controls and a DVD player for $200. And it all fit without any trimming or trim rings, it fits perfect behind the rubber/plastic like it came that way factory
So I'm assuming this kit eliminates the need for using the older/thicker spring?
I also read in another thread about replacing the crush sleeve with a solid spacer of some type, does this kit take care of that as well?
