Can't go wrong following the owner's manual for maintenance schedule. Just be honest with yourself on driving conditions and habits.
That said, with a good oil and filter, you can go a LOT longer than the manufacturer's recommendation. Not sure if the same applies to other fluids though. I'd...
Wise choice on the seat thing Mike, I hadn't even thought of that. In my defense, I try to keep off road excursions to a minimum considering my ground clearance wouldn't allow me to climb a small curb haha...
Gonna leave that big tire open wheeled like that? Or is a fender fabrication in the...
Now THAT would be a sweet sleeper!
Kinda reminds me of a rally-raid "car" Toyota had in GT4. Pretty sure it was meant for Dakar style racing, but it was oddly badass.
Hmm, you might start by asking a mod to move the thread to the JZ section, should get better response there. I'm sure it is probably just a simple electrical gremlin.
Sorry to hear about this Mike. Didn't know him in any way, but it sounds like the world is a worse place without. :(
Also in for stories when the time is right.
Maybe this will change your mind?
320rwhp at ~12psi. Stock intake, only mods were a 3" y-pipe and exhaust, the cams, and the porting. Even still had the silencer in the exhaust. And it was only run to ~6300 by the dyno operator for some reason.
What do most 1j's lay down at 12psi? Around...
Can never go wrong with a good porting job. It may not give a whole lot of "extra" power, but you'll spool up sooner, and won't choke off on top quite as soon. Only downside is it can be an expensive mod, and you need to be choosy on who you have do it.
What is that, like a shovel full? Or a shovel deep? :p
Suddenly the ~1' or so we got earlier in the month seems not so bad. Interesting to drive in when your car is only ~5" off the ground though...
For what it's worth, even the worse Supras I've been in were better built than most newer cheap...
Fair warning, C7 Carbon was banned from Supramania as one of our vendors due to pretty terrible customer service. Shame too, they seemed to have a decent catalog of items for our cars.
As for HID's, Poodles on here makes a nice plug and play conversion for the Mk3.
...and I almost bought it from him when he was selling it, but I had already bought the Regulus. Speaking of which, I kinda wonder how the Reg or Kaminari side pieces would look with this?
You know... I'm not even sure I'll ever do another Mk3 after the widebody, but I wouldn't mind having a...
Considering I've had a 1j Mk3 as my daily for over 3 years now, I'm honestly eager to get into something significantly lighter and more "legal" to run through a few gears without breaking the highway limits haha... That, and I had a 1980 TE72 for a few months. Cost me all of $500 all in, and I...
Man, you AZ kids didn't learn anything from Steven, did you? Put your damn filter on that turbo already... :nono:
Looks to me like you bored your car to death over the course of 13 hours...
...I totally kid man, just watched the trilogy with my girlfriend a few months back. Skeptical though...
You know, I've noticed that many of the "custom" cars that you see like this... they're either NA, stock turbo, or beat to hell mechanically. What is it with people who want pretty things, but can't be bothered to make them fast? I know that paint like this gets expensive, but still... This is...
This is why I'm glad I'm past the hurdle. Giving up really isn't an option for me at this point, I have WAY too much invested in the car. I mean, I could sell all those parts, but after 4 years of planning and re-planning, even going so far as to buy a house so I had a place to keep her indoors...
