This is my first review of a part, so please feel free to send feedback or corrections my way to help make it better!
The Problem
Like many before me, I discovered that my stock bypass valve (17670-42010) was completely dead. I looked into the Bosch replacement, but due to availability and...
Thanks again Nick and SupraDrew for the great pics and info!
Thanks also to everyone else for the other comments. If welding was easy for me I might consider it, but my car is just an old auto that I want to keep as stock looking as possible.
The LIPP elbow fits the bill perfectly for my...
I actually bought a BIC DDP three years ago, but since it doesn't have the mounting points for the stock heat shield I cannot use it in my car. (I want things as close to stock as possible, so losing that heat shield is a deal breaker.)
Thanks for the great pic of the elbow Nick, I miss...
Hi all, apologies if this has been asked before, but in searching I couldn't find anything definitive. (Other than most everyone prefers no elbow at all!)
I am hoping to learn the specifications of the SupraSport LIPP Turbo Elbow so that I can best decide if I should post a WTB thread for...
Yeah, of the six plates the front two were severely bent. Sides were not too bad, though some of the embedded bolts snapped due to rust. Happily I was able to get a replacement part for the side that broke.
I just want this thing to look nice and straight! (As I recall yours looked fabulous!)
I am about to install the stock front lip on my car. I think I have all the parts, but when I removed it a lot of bolts were missing and it has been two years so must admit I don't recall exactly how it was mounted.
If there is no official guide (always wondered if something was in the body...
Agreed Nick, emissions are important to keep under control.
My original thought is that 25 years of technology advances would mean a 3 inch high flow cat would exist that met or exceeded the capabilities and longevity of the stock cats the Supra originally came with.
Am I crazy for...
There is a ton to love, but for me I really enjoy that green Toyota night dash glow.
I drove AW11 MR2s in college and having a "colorful" reminder of this is quite nice.
I also love the look of the stock 7M-GTE. I know it is insane design, but the pipe with 3000 on it, then the word...
Hmm, I had tried a bit of lubrication to no avail. These things were just too tight... I was worried I might break something if I kept at it when I gave up and went back to the originals.
Both versions of the new rears were perfect and slid right on, not sure why they small holed the fronts :(
How is this for irony?
As far as I am concerned the rear bump stops we have been talking about should have been superceded to the newer part number of 48341-14040. The rubber baffle is awesome and the bump stop itself appears no different.
In the case of the bump stops for the front of...
Has anyone ever found a thread or a guide on reinstalling the front lip (aka front spoiler, cover) on to an 89+ car?
I removed mine two years ago as the stays that hold it in place were bent and damaged, and the wretched mechanics of the PO had not replaced all the nuts and bolts. I am...
From all the images I have seen the 86.5-88 fog lamps are a bit wider and more trapezoidal than the 89-92 ones.
Toyota also lists different part numbers for them:
_________86.5 - 88_________89-92
Left_____81221-14130____81221-14131
Right____81211-14130____81211-14131
So it would seem...
I am no expert on wheels by any means, but I tried my luck looking for pictures in Japan.
After looking at a lot of auctions and wheels I noted that I never saw any text on the rear of the spokes on the official AVS Model 5s. Instead, the size and model number were always hidden in divots on...
A couple of my drifter co-workers were there on practice day and got to meet the actor who played Han in the Fast and the Furious movies. Sounds like it was a good time!
I started a new thread here asking about the two Toyota parts: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?219570-Rear-shock-quot-stopper-quot-part-interchangability-(48341-14030-and-48341-14040&p=2054585#post2054585
Today I got both 48341-14030 and 48341-14040 and posted the results of a...
Ok, so I got the bump stops today!
Here are some comparison pictures:
In these images the 91-92 part 48341-14040 is on the left and the 86.5-90 part 48341-14030 is on the right.
The 86.5-90 part just has that little cup, but the 91-92 has a nice rubber baffle!
Otherwise, the bump stop...
