No I used the eyedropper tool, took color from right to the left of '007' then used the paintbrush at about 70% and then gaussian blurred that area

jumping out the connectors disables the electronic spark advance to give you correct timing... if you didnt jump it out, or your TPS (throttle positioning sensor) is bad, it'll show your timing to be 10-15 degrees advanced
and when you try to retard it back to 10*BTDC -actual- timing will be...
sounds like you're still out of time somehow, when you jumped the connectors out, did you look to see if the CEL was flashing?
I know (at least on mk2s) if the TPS is crapped, or out of adjustment, the CEL won't flash and the spark advance won't disable leading you to believe your timing is...
