That sensor going to the back of the tranny is either the reverse light switch, or the abs sensor.
And make sure there is a good ground between the engine and the chassis, otherwise electricity will start finding more expensive paths to take.
Pictures would help of the connector, but yes, it sounds like your touching the alternator wire to the battery... no.
Check to make sure you plugged the solenoid trigger wire into the starter, and that both pos. and neg. cables are tight at both the battery and the block/ starter.

And I think Hvyman was trying to say that you CAN'T run engine fans on the AC relay.
If I recall correctly, the ac fans only come on if the ac is indeed on, OR if you exceed a dangerous temperature- something like 225 degrees or...
I puit it on a new aluminum flywheel.
I've been driving on it for 5,000+ miles, it started slipping after about 1,000.
It may be that I got a weak pressure plate, or something was just off, but regardless- for
my power goal plans(~400hp), I'd rather get a full-face disc with a better pressure...
I have an F1 6 puck clutch and it slips like crazy.
And I don't have mad HP/TQ at the moment.
I say stock, or an Exedy stock kit would be just as good.
