+1 for ditching that bumper. :) You can disable the security system by bridging the two wires that lead to the factory hood pin.

AAARGHH!!! Can NOT get rear axle out of hub...

I just ordered remans from Autozone. I tried getting them from advanced(would have saved me about $30), but when I tried to pay for the online order, it said they were not available, and couldn't be ordered.

After install of parking brakes, cables and new studs: I sure hope the axles come tomorrow, because I'm running out of things to do back there. Regardless, I guess i'll be reinstalling the differential, hubs and all arms to the subframe, so it should at least *look* like there's progress...

    Supra Mania's prodigal son returns...

Hey Reign- Welcome back. I know I don't know you personally, but you and I (i think) had joined this site within a few months of each other back in 2005, so it's good to see another veteran back on here. I look forward to your build thread.

    Thought I'd share something.

Was it possible that the mating surface was slightly uneven? I could see that being a contributing factor... Otherwise, as Suprakid stated, maybe a bad cast.

Replacement upper control arm balljoint covers?

Thanks, Destrux- makes me feel better about buying Toyota parts. Hmm- The oem's seem to use a spiral spring; doesn't look too difficult to reinstall. Also, just found that my rear toe arm boot is torn on one side- Guess I'll be buying two of those too. :(

    What did I bend?

I would also check the mount points for all three arms, on the subframe.

Limiting RPM in MG-E? Keep idiots from screwing me!

Aside from a Bee-R, I can only think of the MSD units, with a tach adapter. One can usually be had on craigslist or a Chevy/ Ford forum for a reasonable amount.

Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1 through5- ***14 YEARS....Approaching the finish line!!!***

Today: Pulled out the last two hub bushings(the lower rubber and lower spherical) from the passenger hub, and cleaned up the hubs/ painted them. Under all that dirt it was practically bare metal, so I just threw little black paint on them too keep em from rusting. If you notice in this pic...

Replacement upper control arm balljoint covers?

Update: I just called Toyota(in fact, I'm still on the phone as I type this), and they sell them. Part # 43324-14010, $16 each. Now that strikes me as pricey, considering you can get all 4 boots for about the same amount from ES in poly, but at least I know these will fit perfectly, and I won't...

Replacement upper control arm balljoint covers?

No, I searched Upper arm. The only thing that concerns me, is the long term results of this part. I have no doubt that the poly holds up perfectly, but these boots don't appear to have a lip on them to 'lock' onto the corresponding lip built into the upper arm. The person in that post...

Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1 through5- ***14 YEARS....Approaching the finish line!!!***

Well, Got just a little bit done today, more tomorrow, hopefully. With some helpful advice from Toyotanos, I finally managed to break loose both of my rear CV axles. Ordered some new ones, as well as new wheel studs for the rear. Also, I managed to pop out one of the rear spherical bushings...
