I just spent like 5 hours trying to get my GE back in. For some reason this is the only time I wasnt able to drop the whole assembly (Block head and trans) in all at once. It got stuck so I had to pull the head off and put it in like that which was easy as hell.

Is it possible to start the car with no transmission? Im on the verge of getting my 7MGE back into the car but I really dont feel like dealing with the transmission today. Edit: manual transmission BTW.

Its like 10 minutes to loosen the belts and take the power steering one off....So why not just do it that way.

Go to the dealership. They can at least tell you the part number if they dont have it.

Have you checked your oil? Maybe valve tapping or rodknock.

Toyota sells everything to make a new engine, but they dont offer a longblock assembled for you. Its also a ton of $$$ through Toyota.

What torque do I put the main crank bolts and the connecting rod bolts to? My manuals giving me no help at all.

I got ahold of him, but his cell didnt have very good reception. I asked him if he still had it and it sounded like he said it was sold. Im gonna try calling back later when I go into town tonight, since my cell doesnt get reception out here. Ill try and set something up for tommorow if its not...
