my only suggestion is to flange it. just in case you want to go to a big single. Or decide to go with a high flow. Or want a different sound from your muffler.

But would that explain the tapping. I know that the injectors usually have a tapping sound but the tapping get louder when the car idles low. Then gets quieter when it returns to the normal idle.
