Yep, drop the down pipe, and also check the turbo to intercooler hose. It's pretty easy and it should of been the first thing checked.

are you sure its your valve seals and not your turbos?

That's just 80 grit sand paper, with some help from a dremal. I am just getting out all the pits. Which I guess is the hard part. I still have to go over it with the finer sand paper, and then polish it.

Check your turbo. Just cause it was rebuilt doesn't mean it won't leak.trust me I know all to well.

I had a 90 gte with abs, then went to a 1jz with out, and almost had a wreck the first day when my brakes locked up. I am swapping the 1jz into a 89 and rewired the harness to add the abs. I feel that it's worth the time.

I had a similar problem, it ended up being the throttle body gasket. So i would think it would be a vacuum leak some were. Did you do the 5 speed swap?

Left side is the 60-1, right is the Driftmotion 67mm (TO4Z)Turbo. I spun the 60-1 with no problem. I think with the upgrade in cams i should do ok with the new turbo.
