Fuel Pulsation Damper Union Bolt Size and removal tips?

Adjustable wrench got it off nicely. Thanks to all that suggested that! Took the part to Sears and confirmed it is 22mm. And I got a 22mm crowsfoot wrench to put it back on with thanks to Nick's suggestion. Torque will be respected and I learned something new!

    Guv'na's Tavern

Oh, just a simple repair that should only take a weekend :P Had air in cooling system no matter how much burping I tried. Water pump was new, compression test was good, and block test was good so I figured hoses were my problem. Bought ALL the hoses, then learned of more and bought them...

    Guv'na's Tavern

Never show up? I swear I read a thread about how much fun many of you had a meet and car show not too long ago. Made me more sad that my car is still sitting on jackstands... Congrats on the job Faye. It sounded like you got it, and that must be fun especially when cool Toyotas come to visit :)...

    Guv'na's Tavern

Wow, the Northwest region rocks! Reading this thread has been way more fun than searching for after market starter information :P Sounds like you got a fabulous present Faye! My wife bought me that manual for Xmas back in 2010...but I think it is a knock off as the wiring diagrams are...

Toyota Part Number Meaning Decoder for nuts?

I have been replacing a lot of nuts, studs, and bolts on my car and have noticed some consistencies with the part numbers: 90179-xxxxx = Most common for nuts 90116-xxxxx = Most common for studs 90119-xxxxx = Most common for bolts Naturally, there are variations, but the above are the most...

Fuel Pulsation Damper Union Bolt Size and removal tips?

Hi again! Does anyone know the size of the union bolt that is under (part of?) the Pulsation Damper on the 7M-GTE fuel rail? I found one thread that said 19mm, but this is not correct. (Need to know what size wrench to buy.) I am also looking for tips on removal and reinstallation. It looks...

Meaning of massive amounts of oil in intake manifold?

Thanks for the link Dan, I always forget that Cygnus has the wiring diagrams too! Based on this info it would seem that connector is a manual only thing, but this weekend I will look again and see if something is disconnected somewhere to be sure. I did notice a NAPA sticker on the starter...I...

Meaning of massive amounts of oil in intake manifold?

Ah plenum, I will remember that! (Surge tank came from EPC, seemed like an odd term to me.) Thanks to everyone for putting my fears to rest on the oil. I know the car had two BHGs that were done by Toyota, with the latest in done 2007 with the newer head gasket and correct torque. I guess they...

Meaning of massive amounts of oil in intake manifold?

Hi all, In my quest to replace all water hoses today the upper "surge tank" section of the intake manifold came off along with the ISC and throttle body. Upon looking inside the still attached lower intake manifold and the upper surge tank there was a lot of dirty dried up oil on...

Any experience with Performance Coatings in Auburn WA?

I picked up the parts today and so far I am very happy with the look. Cannot wait to get them on my car! Will write a real review once I have things on and heat cycled a few times. These were the parts before the coating: After the coating: And temporarily assembled:

    Seafoam + 7MGE = Rod Knock ?

When you mentioned it dying unless you held the gas down a bit my mind instantly went to the distributor cap and rotor. Of course, when those items stopped functioning from wear in my MR2 the stalling/idling problem was constant, so I cannot imagine this was the cause of your problems. Still...

    10 blade radiator fan

Sorry for the delay. Measured this morning and it was 17.5 inches in diameter. (My car is a 89 Turbo.) Had I been more awake I would have measured the fan shroud too :P Let me know if you need that.

    10 blade radiator fan

I can measure my fan when I get home tonight as it is out of the car, but I suspect someone will have this info before then! As far as the fan used on the 7M-GTE, based on the EPC it is the same part number for all years of the MKIII with that engine. The 7M-GE uses a different part number...

How to remove the stock long plastic intercooler pipe without damaging it?

How to remove the stock long plastic intercooler pipe without damaging it?

Thanks for the advice all! I finally got it out by taking the wheel off of all things... (And the washer tank...) And then lots of twisting and turning like CyFi6 noted. To be fair, I had removed all the spoiler brackets as they were bent up badly and a small brace behind the washer tank...so...
