What if I have a K&N dry filter? Would it still be bad cause of the filtering?

How do I tell what year my motor is from?? I got it from a 87 turbo supra but I was told that it is an 89 motor?? Which makes no sense to me lol The harness and ECU are from an 87. The motor has oil squirters and a 6M crank, the number printed on the side is 0271614 and the head has a number...

The 2 guages by the glove box are in the same spot as mine...
