For the past two weeks I have been noticing under wide open throttle my air/fuel ratio goes scary lean. The only code that shows is 34, which from my understanding, is from fuel cut. I am running the stock ct26 hooked up to stock wastegate not shimmed (roughly 12PSI). That alone seems weird to...
There are four bolts from the exhaust manifold to turbo, four from the turbo to elbow and three from elbow to downpipe. Without a flex head ratcheting wrench it is a royal PIA to remove. I noticed your in Sumner. I'm in Milton up the hill, and if you need some help let me know.
Thanks for the advice. While I was adjusting the fender I realized that the plastic spacers for the two bolts near the bottom of the fender were missing and pulling the fender down from the hood. After fixing that all is good!
Is there a difference in body panels between the model years? I recently installed a fender from an 89 on my 87 and there is a big gap between the hood and the fender no matter how much I adjust the hood.
Every 7MGE I have worked on only had one knock sensor towards the middle of the block. And every GTE I have seen, regardless of year, has had two knock sensors one in front and one towards the rear.
25 years of neglect and abuse. Is my best guess.
Its actually quite common in our supras (to a certain extent). But I think mine all started when one of the main front bolts stripped for the differential.
Here's some more pics:
Just bad motors I believe, I just kept exchanging them until I got one that was silent.
I did mine with a buddy in about 6 hours using the attached guide. It's really not that bad, just tedious.
Hope it helps
does the tach move when you crank it?
Did the cps get properly aligned when you put it back in? (not flipped 180)
If code 14 is still present.... more than likely its your problem. Have you tried a different ignitor?
Found his photobucket: http://s242.photobucket.com/profile/Hommersimpson
Am I a fan of the supra? Well no, but he does have a creative mind and looks like he has a lot of wood working experience
If you haven't heard the story already http://www.q13fox.com/news/kcpq-facebook-campaign-for-americanonly-hours-at-bellingham-costco-stirs-heated-debate-page-shut-down-20120816,0,1586758.story
I think this is absolute stupidity! Sure I understand where they are coming from, but its not...
I'm in the middle of disassembling the head. I know that each valve is dedicated to where it came from ....
My Question: Do I have to keep the springs, keepers, and buckets to the same valve they came from?
Thanks in advance
I would like to share a site that has helped me plenty of times. Though it lacks the detailed info in the TSRM, it covers almost every car since the late 1940's. So if you want a different perspective on your Supra repairs, or any other cars you may work on here's the link...
