Awesome. I may be doing this after christmas.
OP any updates on the idle and other readings? Have you thought about doing either a piggyback or standalone setup? Might be easier to hit the sweetspot that way although would be more time consuming I think.
Chris
Not to thread jack, but trying to learn as well. Isn't the SAFC needed when using the lexus housing and larger injectors? What about the AFPR? I ask because I am planning on doing this upgrade as well and want to avoid any issues as this is my daily driver.

Checked shaft play while I was in there and it has a little more than normal but not hitting anything inside (didn't use a dial indicator just used my fingers and moved the shaft up and down and side to side but it spins nice and easy. Probably could use a rebuild. Been thinking of taking an old...
Split the coupler behind the bumper that connects the IC to the upper pipes (I thought the only couplers were the 3 that I could see between the IC and the TB plus turbo to piping and piping to IC), looks as if I will be removing the bumper and all piping later to have all joints welded except...
Had a boost leak before when the coupler popped off the turbo and didn't act anything like this. I'm gonna limp it to my friends shop tomorrow and put it on the lift, need to replace the oil pan gasket too. I will check the piping while it up there too.

I removed the boost controller that I installed. Never did turn the boost up. Hooked the boost reference port back to wastegate and went for a test drive, boost spiked to 15psi and I heard a pop sound. Now the car barely drives and won't rev over 2k rpm in gear and has an random idle bounce...
Yes, even found a wire coming out of the O2 sensor plug on the vehicle side that was broken outside of the connector. Car runs like a champ just still has this "bup" sound at idle. Complete new plugs, wires and fuel system treatment O2 reading look great, timing is correct, and all injectors are...
I a decent amount of scoche 10ga cable laying around in the shed and a 1/2 roll of 4ga at the parents in the garage. I may even relocate the battery while I am at it, I got 2 15 or 20 ft or so lengths of 2 gauge and 1/0 welding lead as well as 2 2 gauge ground cable and a 1/0 ground cable. Just...
I didn't even think about the igniter being a culprit. Looks like I will be looking into that mod and possibly doing it when I do my grounding kit ( I didn't buy one - I refuse to buy something I can make myself, I will make my own out of 4ga audio cable) and air to fuel gauge.

Thanks but I actually found the problem yesterday using some soapy water and a shop light in a make shift "redneck" garage. Used some redneck ingenuity and nailed a tarp to my carport and secured the other end under the hatch lip. The PO decided for some reason not to use a t-bolt clamp on the...
Just took it for a drive and still have a boost leak. turbo is spooling and putting out boost but it seems to not be reaching the manifold or the BOV because its not doing its fluttering release of pressure. The car drives without surging now and for some reason my turn signals have decided not...
All that was removed was the hose from the BOV to the accordion tube and then the port on the accordion tube was capped off. I didn't get the results I was hoping for so I put everything back the way it was. The car drove fine on the way down to school but then on the way home it started acting...
What do you mean correctly, doesn't air flow the hose either way or is their a check valve in there. I am taking to a buddies shop to diagnose it today. I reinstalled the hose before class last night and it ran fin on the way to class then after class on my way home is when it started acting...
Tonight on my way home, cars stuttering real bad an acting like it was gonna die. It would build boost but the turbo sounded more like a scream or a whistle than it use to and when I would shift I didn't get the fluttering sound from the BOV. I had just tried venting the BOV to atmosphere and...
Its one I just have laying around that came with a generic turbo kit from Ebay that I got when I was doing my Honda. I bought the kit for a few pieces and sold most of what I didn't need or want and this thing is one of the few things that didn't sell.
Still can't figure out which wires are...
Maybe I am having a slow moment but I don't see the wires needed for install. Then again I am not sure which ignition wires I need to tap. I'll check into it good and hard before I start.
Chris
I have searched and searched and found a bunch of threads but none that answer my question. I want to install a generic turbo timer that I have had sitting on my shelf for a while now at least until I get my alarm and remote start. I do not have the PnP harness nor do I want to buy one. I want...
