    Looking for a 7mgte

I was doing my homework and getting or attempting to get good solid information as I did and made the choice not to turn up the boost until I had the required parts, because I was missing parts for the LEX/550 mod and no wideband I hadn't done anything to it yet. Side note the motor is coming...

    Looking for a 7mgte

Looking down that avenue as well. I'm pulling the engine tomorrow and gonna strip it down to see just how bad it is. If its rebuildable I'll go back with a re-ring kit, timing belt kit and new oil pump with all ARP bolts/studs and a MHG. I'm also looking for a replacement just in case. Chris

    Looking for a 7mgte

Anybody know of somebody in the north Texas or southern OK area with a 7mgte or just the bottom end from one? My engine either threw a rod or spun a bearing yesterday and I need a replacement. If y'all know of one that's less than 1200 in decent condition let me know. Only one I found has a...

    safe boost level

damn, there goes that idea. I got a SW af gauge meant to be connected to a wideband sensor sitting in my shed. Chris

    safe boost level

2nd question: Am I correct in my assumption that the OEM O2 sensor is a "wideband" sensor of sorts compared to the ones in some newer cars which are of the narrow band? Chris

    safe boost level

That's kinda the neighborhood I was leaning too. I don't plan on pulling this motor apart just yet. Once I finish my Honda I may pull it and do a full rebuild and upgrade the CT26 to maybe a T3/T4 with the Turbosmart WG I have sitting in my shed if they don't sell. I have them posted up on a few...

    safe boost level

Car has stock CT26 turbo as far as I know. PO did the 7mgte swap and I would hope he torqued the head bolts and install a MHG during the install. Planning on checking the head head bolts when I install the injectors. I am really just looking for what the average owner has experienced on their...

    safe boost level

I am about to install a 255lph FP, AFPR, 550cc inj and a lexus afm. What is the max boost I can run safely? Other mods include RFl BOV, elec boost controller and 3 inch exhaust with no cat. This probably a stupid noob question but if I don't ask I won't learn. If this has been asked before...

    HID question

Bixenon just means that the ballast stays powered up during high beam use. Most cars with OEM bixenon have moveable shields inside the projectors. But function of the ballast is the same whether PnP or not. Chris

    HID question

I've had bi-xenon on a few cars and unless you have projectors with moveable shields you don't get the full benefit of the bi-xenon IMO. I have them on my Honda with an E46 retrofit and they were great. One day I will wire it back up. Chris

    HID question

I think the projector retrofit would look much better than the LEDs. I have done a few retrofits on different cars. I have a set of sealed beam conversion assemblies on my car now and have been debating on going all out later on and doing a full retrofit. Chris

    HID question

The military already uses them as headlights on some vehicles. The MATVs we had overseas had them as well as most of the other vehicles. Chris

    HID question

Had a buddy try the LEDs and he hated them. Went right back to his HID. Said the LEDs were bright but not as good or bright as the HID he was using before hand. I was getting flashed constantly and had his headlight aimed down pretty far. They just had a crazy amount of glare to them. Chris

    HID question

I generally the same way GrimJack. I never know when a picture I take might either help or give somebody else and idea to improve or take it a step farther. Thank you Chris

    HID question

That's the kind of answer I was looking for. Just ideas of the different places people have mounted or attempted to mount theirs. Chris

    HID question

I know but if I wanted those kids of answers I would go to another supra forum. I became a member here because of the lack of those types of answers. Chris

    HID question

I'm just concerned with the headlight moving up and down and don't want to damage the wires for my ballasts or bulbs. I'm fully aware of how to bolt something to the car, ass. What I am looking for isPICTURES of where under the headlight or other viable options people have used, I guess I need...

Glad it worked out for you. I too am curious about the damage to the car. Chris

    HID question

I know under the headlights, too many moving parts to mount elsewhere without extending the wires. Anybody have any pics of how/where they mounted theirs. Chris
