    My new 7M buildup...long road.

Ok, for the past year or so I have been collecting parts for my next buildup; a 7MGTE that'll reliably handle the 300-400hp range. I wanted to have a complete longblock ready to drop in, rather than rebuilding my current one, so I could reduce downtime. Besides, as soon as the old engine is...

PROBE FORGED PISTON SOLID MODELS AND SPECS! LOOK!

What's the thickness of material between the valve relief and the piston edge? In the model, it looks REAL thin. (Of course, ALL hot models are thin..:) I assume it's a normal dimension, though, yes?

Finally, after 7 months, fixed my idle issue!

Hey- I didn't see that you're in stockbridge. I'm up in Kennesaw. I was going to say- if you have an NA, shouldn't your timing be set at 12degrees? I can't remember, but that should help with the hesitation.

Finally, after 7 months, fixed my idle issue!

If project 2 has some some of problem like...I dunno- it runs rough maybe, check to make sure it has six spark plugs. :naughty: Just kidding (I couldn't resist) Honestly- who here HASN'T had a brainfart, and overanalyzed a problem on their Supra, only to find out it was something simple...

Probe Forged Pistons: You want 'em? GB!

Yeah- What is the status of this group buy? I've been sitting on a block(not literally), waiting to put it together, and I want to get an idea of when this might happen. If not reasonably soon, I'll have to go with my new cast pistons. Any info is appreciated.

I'm in dire need of help. HELP WITH COOLING!!!

I'd love to jump on the "BHG" bandwagon, but it doesn't sound like it- not since you have a new engine, retorqued and all. What happens if you run the engine at idle, till it warms up, with the rad cap off?

Probe Forged Pistons: You want 'em? GB!

Have you gotten an impression from them as to what the final price will be? I know you said it would drop with quantity, and that at the point of having an order of approx. 20-30 sets would bring the price to around $350 w/ rings- is that still the estimate with 45+ sets on order? Just curious...

Probe Forged Pistons: You want 'em? GB!

OK, It doesn't sound like this is going to be in our hands for a couple of months yet, but I'm not gonna be one of those GB guys that backs out at the last minute either, so I'm gonna go pick up all my machine parts from the shop, and sit on them till this happens. I was hoping this'd get going...

    port and polish

You don't want the exhaust ports much larger than they already are. The reason is that the ports are supposed to be smaller than the manifold they dump into (as stated above), so that the exhaust gases will have less ability to reverse back into the cylinder. That's whats called the reversionary...

Turbo lag reduced via driveshaft change?

Damn- I hope this isn't true, cause I'm about to install a AL driveshaft. I guess it means that my CT will spool like a T4/1.15 AR.

Probe Forged Pistons: You want 'em? GB!

Doward- when do you expect a final go-ahead from Probe? And whenever the creation process begins- how long will it take to get the product out to the people? I'm sitting on a freshly machined block/head, waiting to see if this is going to happen. Sorry for the impatience, but I need to get this...

    delayed cranking

I've had the same problem for the last two yrs, intermittently. I usually see it happen in the winter/ colder weather. There are times when I have to hold the key in the start position for up to a minute, then all of a sudden, it cranks at full speed, as if nothing were wrong. Other times, I...
