    I used to run the - cable from the battery to the chassis then a short cable at the front across to the motor and ended up running 2x 500+ CCA batteries in my Z to overcome the V drop! In the Supra with a single optima yellow there is very minimal V drop running the welding cables all the way...

    I suggested .5" welding cable x 2 runs, 1 from the battery + to the Starter + and the other from battery - to the Bellhousing as a ground. ;)
