    Another Urban Myth I'd like to see die! ;) In the old days when I built my Twin Turbo 4V Toyota V8 you couldn't buy a flywheel to suit so I got 2 x Auto Flex plates machined the ring gear off one then welded them together and bolted a Steel Friction surface on for the Clutch. It worked...

    Yes A flywheel stores energy. It may take more load to get it turning if it's heavier so slower acceleration but it doesn't actually "give hp" if you lighten it. If you go too light in a fat pig Mk3 you can hurt drivability down low.

    Hate to disagree but it doesn't "free up" any HP. It will change response times ie: rev quicker but the total amount of HP will be the same.

    New question for the AVC-R users! I've read a few reports that the AVC-R will only work to 1.8 bar/26 psi is this correct and what are your experiences?
