i think its the different scales playing tricks on you, screwed me up a little until i realized the scaling is different for hp and tq, i wonder why they do that.....

seems like it could be a dead 02, if its not sweeping. still doesnt explain the lean condition, unless it was at the high end causing the computer to reduce fuel untill it cant any further to try to correct the problem based off the erroneous 02 signal.
There is a open oil port behind at least the first plug, leave that one out and youll find a nice amount of oil soaking your #1&2 plug wires.

i was going to do the same install with an almost identical gauge but it was running into that rear vent as you mentioned and throwing it all off. i ended up scraping it.
