Ummm it comes down to the smallest restriction in the system (usually a bend in a hose) As JJ stated you can flow a HUGE amount through the -8 fitting and if you do drill it out what do you do with the mating fitting? (not enough meat to drill it to match)

I have mine mounted to the vertical surface under the rear seat behind the drivers seat. Any where that's not easily reached will cost time and could be the difference in a few scorched bits and a total burndown if it takes hold as most extinguishers don't have the capacity for a large fire.

Get a really clean tray to drain it into then a clean container to store it just in case! The Syncro rings and their mating surfaces can glaze up a bit so it might not come good right away. There are additive packs esp for baulky syncros I tried one and it actually made things worse.

I went 3.5">2x2.5" to get clearence. 4" will mean 4wd suspension on all but the smoothest flatest roads.

For most it would have to be either "Knocking on Heavens door" or maybe "The BHG Blues" ;)

Yep too slippery the syncro works through friction so it can match speeds between gears speeding up the gear one way and slowing it down the other. If the Oil is too slippery this doesn't happen and you get a clash on the change (My Tremec's doing this ATM)
