Chris: "m8" is Kurt Geek Speak for "mate" ;)
LOL yep it would be nice if they settled on ONE standard for this sort of thing!
I grew up during the change to Metric here so speak both and still convert some things to imperial to give me a clearer mental picture!
TG: Yes I drilled and tapped it for an overflow so it doesn't puke all over the hood!
Stock it had a small vent hole!
(I run one of these as a header tank on my PC's watercooling and as it doesn't get that hot it's not a problem but as I said earlier in the car capacity is marginal)
JaV: Try harder ;)
JD: Yep! :(
Looks like some of the inners were a bit tight in the outers and due to expansion it caused the outer to be nicked by a bucket....
Mine has an internal tube to the bottom and works as stock!
Only problem with these is they're borderline for capacity if you run the car hard!
When cold I can only have an inch to an inch and a half of coolant in the can or it runs out of room and overflows when hot!
3P: I lost a Koni when I had a stock Bump rubber split letting it bottom out and break the piston on the end of the shaft!
Since then I've been a touch paranoid about good bump stops!
(current coilovers have Porsche progressive rubbers)
My reply re: 2 piece DS! ;)
High speed sustained the 2 piece is far superior!
Uni Joints don't spin in circles it's more a figure 8 and the longer the shaft the greater this effect and eventually if it's too long or spinning too fast you get shaft whip/vibration and destruction of parts!
