Jag: I made my own flywheel for my old V8 240z and when I rearset the motor I made the new firewall out of 2mm Hitensile Steel for that very reason!
(I like my legs)
I'm using an NGK Powerdex AFX it's very basic not that expensive and has a calibration dial to extend the useful life of the sensor.
It reads 16>9 and has an output so you can log it with a standalone if needed.
Chris: It might let it pop up enough so you can remove it and find what's changed, I'm guessing a burr or the follower has been dropped and isn't round.
Good luck!
Can't think of an easy way to correct this sorry.
<edit> Maybe try some heat from a propane torch on the head around the bucket being careful to NOT get it too hot.....
Scum have ways of getting the info needed....
Another point is here the Cops monitor forums and there was a recent case of a guy getting a defect and being told he could drive it home, he ignored this then a few days later bragged online the cop read it and nailed him :)
Some rat could be here shopping for parts see's his tags runs a check gets his details and address from the DMV and bingo another stolen Mk3.....
No need to make life easier for the lowlifes.
Chori: A good experiment that you've probably done when you were a kid is grab a bike pump hold you finger over the end and pump..
It gets HOT this is what happens in a forced induction motor doesn't matter if it's a Turbo or a blower, the IC cools the air before it hits your finger :)...
LOL there's just so MUCH area and not a great deal of it flat ;)
Looking forward to seeing how it comes up.
(still think I'll pay someone to tidy mine up though)
Foto: I save most of my files as DXF's which my CNC Software can use to write the G Code directly and produce the parts as 2.5d (2d with a Z height added)
I rarely program in 3d as the files are enormous and just not required for most of the stuff I do.
