    My first car was a 240hp 5.0L domestic V8 with a stick and yep it got boring PDQ. What I tell younguns and their parents these days is to book the kids in for an advanced driver course at a race track as soon as possible as the driving lessons are only teaching them how to pass the test.

    I bought OEM seals but if you have a rubber supplier near by you could buy some 10mm thick closed cell foam and make your own they're very basic.

    Dave: The big clue was it blew the smoke badly after using engine braking for a long time so it's either stem seals or it's pulling oil through the PCV under prolonged vaccum.

    Q: Thanks for the info and pics (just fitted my v44 yesterday and was a bit concerned how well it could managae boost) Interesting that they exhaust shop have cancelled out any benefit of having the flex pipe in the DP but plumbing the WG to the other side of it ;)
