Yep triple coated but I'd assume they would have bored to JE's specs..
My Ross set had the same coatings and you could see evidence of some funky expansion going on even with another 2 thou clearence on them.
The carbon looks more like a Cletus PCV mod to me.
I run my JE's tight (3 thou) but they haven't even scuffed the coating after 6000 kilometres (5k of hard thrashing) and an intake explosion that would make the Mayor of Hiroshima duck.
How about we Mods just ban stupid people as needed.......
Ohhhhh hang on that would be EXACTLY what happens now and the site seems to be running fine.
Enough of this Sky is falling Chicken Little shit the world isn't going to end if a few Mk4 guys join NOTHING will change to how we do...
Rod ratio....
2J crank in a short deck 1J block will get really ugly, Toyota aren't morons if it was going to yield a good result the would have kept the 1J blocks.
Intake charge isn't very dense and there's not a lot of flame front travel across the crown so I'd guess it's at idle.
There seems to be a missing frame or two around the exhaust event each time as well.
Yes
no it doesn't ;)
(If you were trying to screw the last hp out of it for class racing it would be worthwhile obsessing but for a street car I'd just grab a 2mm and be done with it, worst case scenario it drops the comp to 8.26:1 which isn't low enough to affect drivability but more likely...
AR: LOL here it gets even more confusing as the local guys have decided to NOT use the conventional size heads for metric bolts, normally an m8 bolt would have a 12mm head but nah Aussie manufacturers think it should be 13mm.....
