Very welcome Kristian!
As with most "adjustable" things more isn't always better and if you don't understand what the adjustment is doing in relation to your particular setup you can "adjust" to engine failure.
It's great that the guys are starting to learn about all this but please...
Ok degreed they should have 114 lobe centres......
Add your 8 degrees and your really closing the leak and bumping cylinder pressures.
As a matter of interest can you run a comp test with a fully charged battery and the throttle held open please?
"safe" for me is pulling 4 degrees out...
Kristian: One thing to keep in mind and be aware of is the less overlap you have the higher your dynamic compression will be at the same boost level right up to the point where detonation/mechanical damage occurs.
The B+ Alt cable is a problem all on it's own with the GTE Alternator so the insulation will either be soft while hot and running or brittle when cold.
I've seen a few where the plastic insulator has melted allowing it to short and burn.
J: Having a good run with my JE's, haven't used CP's so can't really comment.
I was a little concerned that the JE's were a bit light but they all looked fine last time I had it open.
I machine .5mm from the Seal housing so it moves back on the crank by that amount and lets the seal find virgin material away from the 20 year old groove ;)
